The skills of The Rainmaker are many and varied, but they are skills that can be learned. Others like to complicate what needs to be done from the cocktail bar to the boardroom and imply there is a magic bullet (their system, usually) that will make everything easy as pie. That’s not us.
If you want video feedback to put people on the spot, if you want to win over sceptics who “know” how to do it and have been doing it for years, if you need to motivate the new generation who will be nurturing the clients of the future, pick up the phone. That’s us.
The Brief
Harley Haddow invited KWC Global to work with their senior team on Relationship Building and Pitching skills.
The group ranged from those with decades of experience to others fairly new to the idea of going out networking and gaining new business in what is a very tough business environment.
Converting The Sceptics
Within the group there was, typically for senior professional services delegates, the full range from scepticism to enthusiasm. By the end of two intensive days all were converts. The skills learned were all specifically relevant to business development or selling and advancing the deal towards.
They knew at the outset it would be “tough love” and that’s how it turned out. There was much lively debate around both networking and pitching. When it came to pitch delivery the team element and feedback proved useful in showing best practise and inspiring improvement.
