My partner loves all things craft beer. He starting making his own attempt at home brew about 6 years ago, starting-off easy with pale ales and over the years became more adventurous creating smoked stouts and sour beers.
As his interest grew he joined online forums, used online recipe software and updated our bookshelves with a whole new home brew section. It’s fair to say that I have had many a night trying to get to sleep with the sound of bubbling and gurgling coming from our hall!
There were of course a few failed batches and the odd infected beer but he loved giving it a go and creating recipes.
Towards the end of last year he submitted a Saison to the National UK home brew competition and I am delighted to share that he won first place! It just goes to show that doing what you love and even developing your hobbies can have fantastic results.
