KWC to participate in Scotland Excel’s Inclusive Growth Conference 2020

Our Principal Consultant and Head of Coaching, Nicky Denegri, will deliver a workshop about Engaging Effectively at the Scotland Excel Conference next week at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.

The Scotland Excel Conference was established in 2009 as a platform for local authority procurement professionals to come together to learn and share best practice.

For the first time, Scotland Excel are opening up attendance to delegates from across local authorities and other public or third sector organisations that share an interest in local development.  This year, the conference theme is ‘inclusive growth,’ covering key areas that contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of communities including local supply chains, affordable housing and sustainable care.

Over two days (20 and 21 February), delegates will have the chance to listen to a variety of keynote speakers, including Scotland Excel’s Director, Julie Welsh, South Lanarkshire Council’s Chief Executive, Cleland Sneddon and Head of Social Bite, Neil Findlay as well as participate in several workshops.

Nicky explained: “I’m delighted to be part of the conference and deliver a workshop at this event, with the focus on Engaging Effectively: Clarity, Focus And Power.

“There is alchemy in gravitas and authority, and an X factor that can be hard to pin down. But confidence, assertiveness, empathy and rapport are ever present traits. Ensuring communication is a two-way process and being able to say the right thing, at the right time, in the right way is what we will cover in this session.

“In the meantime, I invite delegates to read my blog, The Listener where I talk about how coaches can listen effectively, the different levels of listening and what happens when it goes wrong.”
